hmm..let's see.
I like horror movies. I always have, ever since I was a kid.
I've read many books about crime and serial killers.
I've been fascinated by the paranormal for as long as I can remember. demons, ghosts, poltergeists..all interest me.
I play violent games, write horror stories, listen to music that glorifies drugs, murder, and suicide, had a collection of bird skulls and small animal bones as a child, and the only sport I ever learned was a martial art. so I know how to be damned violent and hurt someone badly if I have to.
yet..I've never done drugs. I've never smoked. I don't drink. I've never used violence against anyone, and never would unless it were in defense of myself or someone else. I can't even stand the sight of real blood. sometimes even fake blood turns my stomach. Hell, I cried the first time I ran over an animal and felt guilty for days afterwards, even though I could not have avoided doing it.
if someone has issues, they have issues. video games don't make people crazy. movies and music don't drive people to homicidal rages. people need to stop blaming these things when some kid snaps, and instead pay closer attention and realize when someone has a problem.
as for religion..I have no problem at all with religious people as long as they're not shoving it down someone else's throat. I know that one crazy christian doesn't mean the whole lot of them are raging nutcases. but it's true that people never point the finger of blame at christianity when someone does something like this and claims god told them to do it. it's a subject that a lot of people just won't touch.
